Relining is at its best when the existing pipe's path and shape are sound but its walls are not: cracks, open joints, recurring roots and corrosion without deformation.

It is at its worst when the problem is geometry: bellies that hold water, offsets, collapses or grade faults. A liner follows the shape it is installed into - including the problems.
